Success Story of Jalaj Joshi

JALAJ JOSHI
Personal Assistant at
Authority For Advance Ruling (Income-Tax) (On Deputation)
Government of India, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance

Hello, my friends, I am here to share my story that how I got government job in Income Tax Department, Gujarat.  After securing 50 per cent in XIIth Standard, all my hopes were shattered because the percentage I got in my XIIth standard was not enough to get admission into good colleges of Delhi University. At that time I was totally blank about my future. But thanks to my elder brother who gave me good guidance and he told me to do stenography. In my opinion, at that time there was not much competition in stenography. So, I did what my brother said. At that time SSC Stenographers Grade C and D 2012 notification was about to be released. So, I completed my theory in about 3 and a half months. While I was doing my theory in stenography, I enjoyed a lot in doing stenography and I took more interest in it also.

After completing my theory, believe me friends it just took me only 6 months to achieve 80 wpm speed in stenography with less than 2 per cent errors. It only happened because after I finished my class I sincerely devoted 4 hours at home practicing stenography and it was my daily routine no Saturday, no Sunday for me at that time because I took a lot of interest in it and wanted to get government job in 2012 notification which was published by SSC at that time. After SSC Stenographer Gr. C and D 2012 written result was out I felt very happy because I cleared that exam. Now, the turn had come to clear skill test. SSC gave us only 2 months for preparing for the skill test. Those 2 months I really worked hard and at that time I easily was writing 80 wpm with less than 1 percent error and at that time I practiced only 100 wpm dictation not 80 wpm. In my opinion if you want to clear Steno Gr. D exam you should practice at the speed of 100 wpm instead of 80 wpm. If you master yourself writing at 100 wpm then you can easily write at 80 wpm in skill test and that exactly happened with me.

I sincerely convey my thanks to Likho Steno Academy because they provide me good dictations at 100 wpm with fluctuations also. Although I didn’t hear much about it in those days.  Now, the big day came in my life i.e. my skill test exam. After coming out of the Skill Test Exam Centre I knew that my skill test will surely get clear and exactly the same happened. In December 2012 SSC Steno Gr. C and D 2012 final result was out. I was overwhelmed when I saw my name in the final merit list. I got Income Tax Department, Gujarat as Steno Gr. D. After rendering my duties as Steno Gr. D for 4 years, I got my first promotion as Personal Assistant (Steno Gr. C). Now, I am currently on deputation means for a short period of time i.e. 3 years in Authority for Advance Rulings (Income-Tax), Government of India, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. After completing my tenure at Authority for Advance Rulings (Income-Tax), I have to revert to my parent department i.e. Income Tax Department, Gujarat. Last but not the least I really thanked to GOD who helped me in achieving government job.
"At the end, I just want to say that “Hard-work is the key to success".
