Confused in these two? Let's talk about them.
A lot of aspirants get confused in SSC Stenographer and DSSSB Stenographer. Whether it is their preparation days or they get selected in both, they always feel difficulty in choosing between them. There are lot of questions in their minds.
Where should I join?
What are pros and cons?
What special benefits are there in each?
Today we will get to know what are the similarities between SSC Stenographer and DSSSB Stenographer? What makes these two different from each other? An many more questions.
First of all we should know how many times the recruitment takes place in a year?
The answer is Once in a year but what about the duration of completion of whole recruitment process. Earlier SSC was way better than DSSSB in terms of duration of completion of whole recruitment process but for last 3 years both have been same. The time taken is approximately 2 years.
What is the difference between Exam pattern?
There is a huge difference between these two in terms of Exam pattern. SSC Stenographer has 2 stages of Recruitment Process (Written Examination and Shorthand Skill Test). DSSSB Stenographer also has 2 stages of Recruitment Process (Written Examination and Shorthand Skill Test & Typing Skill Test) but the Typing Skill Test is an addition in this process. There is also a huge difference in the Subjects and Scheme of Written Examination. SSC Stenographer has the following subjects with marking scheme:-

You will have to study two extra subjects Hindi and Mathematics.
When it comes to Stage 02 there is also a difference in Skill Test. In DSSSB there will be two tests in same day one is Stenography Skill Test and the other is Typing Skill Test. Whereas in SSC there is only Stenography Skill Test. It is important to mention that DSSSB doesn't recruit for 4200/-, 4600/- and recruit only for 2400/- so there is no scope of Grade C. However, earlier it used to recruit. Whereas, SSC recruits for 2400/-, 4200/- and 4600/-.
What if you get selected for both?
If you get selected for both then you should keep a few things in your mind. First, if you are a permanent resident of Delhi and do not want to move outside Delhi then you should opt for DSSSB Stenographer because lifetime posting will be in Delhi only. And if you are a resident of outside Delhi but want to settle in Delhi then this is the best option for you.
In SSC Stenographer, if your marks are not in top list then you can be posted anywhere in India because SSC recruits for Ministries/Departments all over India. But if you are a resident of outside Delhi and want posting in your State then SSC is the best option, however, there are a number of departments in SSC. You'll have to find out the number of vacancies in your State through RTI to the desired department and not SSC because the commission doesn't have state-wise vacancies.
Is there any difference in Salary?
The answer is NO. There is no difference in salary in both because all allowances are paid as per CCS Rules. So if you are posted in Delhi through DSSSB or SSC, your salary will be same.
Which has good promotions?
Promotions are better in SSC Stenographer, however, the employee will get NFSG (4200/- Grade Pay) after 5 years of approved service. This is important to note that not all departments in Central Government provide NFSG but in Delhi Government the employee gets NFSG. There is no grade pay in between for stenography post whereas in Central Government there is 2800/- as well, if NFSG is not given. So, if you get selection in a department which has no NFSG then Delhi Government is better to join.
Age is one major factor in getting when it comes to promotions. If you get selected at a young age then there are more chances that you'll get retire on a Higher designation. And if you get selected to near about 27-30 then ultimately you will retire at a lower designation than a young candidate.
Is there any difference in Leaves?
No, there is no difference in leaves granted to a Government Employee. The number of leaves in a year are CL, 02 RH, 20 HPL and 30 EL. Gazetted holidays are same for both but some leaves are extra in Government of Delhi such as Chhath pooja. These leaves depend on State Government whether it wants to give it or not.
Respected Job?
Oh please! Don't ask this question. From my point of view there is not term like Respect. You get respect when you respect others. If you can't respect others, you should not expect it for you. Important is how you have terms with your seniors, colleagues and sub-ordinates. If you are looking for anything beyond respect then my friend you will not be happy with your service wherever you join and it's true. So, focus more on sincerity in your job, timely completion of tasks given to you and you'll have no problem throughout your service.
I have earlier said my other Blog there is there is Power as such in Government Service. All Government Officials are bound with some rules and they are authorized by Government only according to Government's norms. No one can pose his/her rules.
I hope now you have a clear picture in your mind as to which you should join.
I think I deserve one like from you. Don't forget to hit the LIKE button and SHARE it with your friends in need.
