SSC Stenographer Preference Form - 2018
Dear students,
I have been receiving so many messages, comments requesting for guidance to fill SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Preference Form 2018. Through this blog I would like to share my experience of filling preference from.
What is Preference Form?
Many of us don't even know about preference form and its importance and give our choice of department without knowing pros and cons. Preference form is a kind of facility given to candidates by Staff Selection Commission for choosing their desired department. Candidates get department according to their marks scored in Tier 1 exam, the Computer Based Examination.
Which Department will be better for me?
This most important part is to fill preference form in a way that you get your desired department. Many candidates want to be posted in their home state. Many other want to be posted in Ministries. Whereas many want Delhi as their posting State. Here you need to play smart.
First you need to analyze what are your priorities.
Category 1:- Posting in Delhi
If you want posting in Delhi then you can choose the following departments as your top preferences:
1. Ministry of External Affairs
2. Ministry of Railway
3. Ministry of Defence (AFHQ)
4. Election Commission of India
5. Department of Personnel & Training (CSSS)
Please note: You should be ready to get posted anywhere in India.
Category 2:- Fast Promotions
You will be disappointed to know that promotions are same everywhere. Earlier some departments were good in promotions but now almost all are same. But choosing departments mentioned in Category 1 can be opted for better promotions. You can add CBDT as well.
Category 3:- Posting in Home State
This problem has no solution but there are some departments through which you can posting in your home state. You can choose the following departments as your top preferences:
1. CBDT
2. Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)
3. Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC)
4. Ministry of Agriculture
5. Ministry of Railway
6. Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)
7. Intelligence Bureau (IB)
Please note:- There is no guarantee of getting posted in your hometown because it depends only if vacancies are available in a particular State. I wish you all get posting according to your desired department.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required or not?
If you are already a Government Employee then you should ask your department for No Objection Certificate (NOC). Generally candidates who are on probation don't need NOC but keeping it with you is the right decision.
